Michael George
Managing Partner
Prior to MxP, Michael was a controlling shareholder in Weetabix. Post the sale of Weetabix in 2004, Michael founded MaxCap Partners in 2006, the multi-family office that today comprises part of Holbein Partners. Previously, he was at Electra Private Equity, where he led transactions and facilitated the growth of Nectar Taverns and Advanced Medical Solutions (now listed on the LSE with c. £500m market cap). Michael started his career in corporate finance at ABN AMRO Hoare Govett, became an investment manager at Laing & Cruickshank, and prior to Electra was Head of Wealth Management at Durlacher.
Michael is a Board Member at Whitworth Holdings and Amber Taverns, both MxP portfolio companies where he has driven organic and acquisitive growth. He is also on the Board of Trustees at United Learning, is Chair of Governors for Northampton Academy, and acts as a Global Ambassador for Kew Gardens.
